Mind & Body Connection

Cara loves the connection yoga has brought to her life and she is passionate about sharing this with others.

What keeps pushing me

Clear Mind & Body

Cara’a unique approach is established in a grounded home practice that includes daily meditation and mantra recitation, breath work (pranayama), conditioning, and a vinyasa style asana that incorporates static and dynamic expression while venturing through the five elements. Cara has found great freedom in yoga and desires to share that with everyone she meets.

Where I'm from

My Teaching Journey

Cara began practicing yoga asana in May of 2013. Her first teacher, Britteny Howell, introduced her to the practice over the course of several months of one-on-one sessions. In January of 2016, Cara completed her first 200-hr training with Matthew Higdon (Subtle Power Yoga). Since that time, Cara has continued to deepen her knowledge of yoga. She obtained a second 200-hr certification with Jessica Lichaa and Ginny Van Horn (Radically Rooted) in October of 2019 and beyond that has completed her 500-hr certification at Asheville Yoga Center. While a teacher of yoga, Cara still considers herself to be a student of the practice.

The Only Way Out Is Through

Cara has been fascinated with the idea of creating harmony through sound much of her life. Through the cathartic experience of yoga, she discovered that such resonance can also be found within our own multifaceted being. Upon completion of her Masters degree in Saxophone Performance at the University of Kentucky in 2011, she was suffering with physical pain surrounding repetitive strain injury, scoliosis, and degeneration of the lumbar spine. After trying massage therapy, physical therapy, and chiropractic care, she found yoga to be the only long-lasting treatment for pain relief. Cara has a special interest in using yoga as therapy for the body and mind. Her yoga classes are designed with the intention of helping and accepting all people where they are on their unique yogic journey.
